Young Reds crash to defeat

Published by fiz on October 11, 2008

It was a disappointing weekend for the Liverpool under 18s as they slipped to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers.

After a five consecutive league wins, the Liverpool Academy side were defeated by a side who were dominant throughout the whole game.

The home side went two up at half-time courtesy of Phil Jones and Jake Simpson. Simpson doubled his tally for the day and Josh Morris completed the rout.

Hughie McAuley wouldn’t be too pleased with the result after the visitors having the better of the play during the early period of the game.
