Winger told he can leave Liverpool

It was reported in The Independent yesterday that Jermaine Pennant was told by Benitez that he can leave the club. Pennant hasn’t been at his best and it’s believed that Benitez are looking into the possibility of using the spare cash to bid for Blackburn Rovers winger David Bentley.
Pennant joined Liverpool from Birmingham for £6.7m. He came with high expectation but was really inconsistent. He was also left out of the squad for the last 2 league games.
It’s believed that Benitez will let the winger leave once the right offer comes in. Both West Ham and Newcastle are reported to be interested in signing him.
