West Ham fixture change

West Ham United have announced their meeting with Liverpool at Upton Park will now take place on 30th January. It has been delayed due to the possibility of West Ham featuring in the 4th round of the Fa Cup. The tie was supposed to be played on 29th January 2007.

There is still no new date set for the match at Anfield which was postponed in August due to Liverpool’s involvement in the Champions League. In Last season’s league meetings between the two sides, Daniel Agger scored a cracking first goal for Liverpool in a 2-1 win at Anfield. And at Upton Park, Liverpool won 2-1 also with Dirk Kuyt hitting a goal inside the opening few seconds of the second half. Peter Crouch was the other Liverpool scorer in both games.

In the Fa Cup 2006, “The Gerrard Final” was born when Liverpool won on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw at the final Fa Cup final at the Millenium Stadium. Yossi Benayoun featured in that game and joined Liverpool from the Hammers in summer 2007.
