Welcome Back Sammy

Welcome Back Sammy thumbnail

The return of Sammy Lee, it’s ironical that he got the chop at Bolton as manager but Liverpool welcome him back as number 2. I believe that there are certain jobs cut out for certain people and Liverpool have recognised that.

I watched Sammy as a player and always thought that although he was not a glossy player to watch, the skills he showed each week were phenomenal.

His ball control was awesome and often far superior to the better known players (so strange how small players seem to have better ball control). If you asked that team which player they would like to have seen replaced, Sammy’s name would have been the last one submitted.

I am as pleased as punch to see another scouser in the ranks. We know that home grown boys are more passionate about their roles. This is not to take anything away from the rest of the squad but its just a fact.

A different regime will now be setup and training will take on a new pattern, almost certainly with more passion instilled.

It is also obvious that Sammy has a good relationship with the boss (which seems not too easy these days) If I had the flack that Rafa has had this season I would definately back off into a defensive shell.

Welcome back Sammy, I am sure we will see the fruits of your return.
