Wait until end of season to judge Liverpool says Riera
Published by fiz on September 22, 2008
Liverpool winger Albert Riera has called upon critics to wait until the end of the season before passing judgement.
Critics were quick to comment on Liverpool’s draw against Stoke City at Anfield which they should have won regardless of the controversial goal which was ruled out.
“It’s still very early in the Premier League. It’s only the beginning and we will have many more matches that are better than today,” Riera told the offish site.
“It’s a long season and we must be patient. I’m sure we will get better but the most important thing is how we finish.
“Physically, when it comes to December and January teams can dip a little bit – you can’t be the same physically throughout the whole of the year. But we are progressing well and I’m sure we will be better.
“We lost two points on Saturday and we’ll see what the other team do, but it’s okay – where we are at the end is when we have to be judged.”
