Voronin: “Confident we can put up a challenge”

Andriy Voronin, the Anfield hitman who has become a firm fans’ favourite since his bosman move last summer, today stated that he firmly expects the Reds to be competing at the sharp-end come the end of the season.

“Our problem has sometimes been scoring, but we are certainly creating plenty of opportunities now,” said the Ukrainian hitman.

“If we can carry on putting them away, then there is no reason why we can’t enjoy success and be challenging for honours.

“I’m confident that will be the case.”
