Serb confirms Inters interests in £30m Gerrard

Published by Redneck on February 18, 2008

Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic spoke to Tuttosport in response to the news that Inter President Massimo Moratti has targeted both Frank ‘Fat’ Lampard and Steven Gerrard in a sensational £60m+ summer-swoop.

“Our midfield only lacks a player like Gerrard.” admitted the Serb who is now in his fourth season at the San Siro after his switch from Lazio during the January transfer window of ‘04.

“The Reds leader is a better player than Lampard and would really help us.” he added.

This pretty much confirms Inter’s interests in our captain marvel (pictured in training for tomorrow night’s clash) which was reported by Kop-TV here.

if we keep goin the way we are i wouldnt blame steve for going he is the best for his position in the world, who wants medals. I think next season if we dont come close to winning the league he my have second thoughts about liverpool. rafa needs now to change or go.

Well I fully blame the players on the pitch for not getting the results.

It was well publicised today on SSN that Rafa indeed makes LESS changes in comparison to Scum, Chavs and the Gooners, so all those people slating our manager for rotating too much should pay attention.

We wont come close next season unless Rafa is still manager, and he is given the funds to swing the axe a bit and rebuild his squad.

By sacking Rafa we would only be going backwards, undoing all the hard work he has done over the last 3 and a half years.

However, if results continue then the bigwigs at Anfield will have no choice but to relieve him of his duties, and if DIC get ownership of our club - the first thing they’re going to do is review his position, with sources indicating that he will be replaced EVEN IF we win the Champions League!

I believe the players should share the fair amount of blame as well, however, it’s not just their fault for the team’s under-performance. It’s from top to the bottom, the owners, the board, the manager, as well as the players, they are all interrelating and they have let the fans down big times.
It’s not just a codswallop rumour, we are a team in crisis! Hopefully the positive result against Inter will be a pivotal point for the wake up call! Come on you reds!!

Well we certainly need to hear the Anfield roar tomorrow night … !!

Just watched the post-match interview in SSN, and never once I saw the man looked really dejected and disappointed. I really feel for him.. The team let him down big time. Maybe it’s best for him to move to another club for the sake of his psychological state. I mean, he turned down Madrid, Bayern and AC Milan for all THIS big disappointment? We’re really lucky to have him after all.
However, I stand to my opinion that things need to be reassessed at the end of this season. Until then, I’m still supporting him wholeheartedly! Come on reds!! let’s kick some ass tomorrow!! YNWA
