Inter President concedes defeat in £35million Gerrard chase

Published by Redneck on March 7, 2008

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has admitted that he would be very interested in making a swoop for Steven Gerrard this summer, but conceded defeat in being successful.

“The player who could add something useful to our current team is Gerrard, the Liverpool midfielder is strong, consistent, brave and simply top class. But I do not think there will be an opportunity to buy him.” Moratti told La Stampa.

Moratti will see once again what Stevie G is all about when his club comes face-to-face with Gerrard-led Liverpool at the San Siro in the return leg of our European battle for a spot in the last eight of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
