Torres minor doubt for Man U clash

Published by liverpoolrox on March 18, 2008

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is hoping that Fernando Torres makes a full recovery from a minor knock he acquired over the weekend. Torres scored the winner against Reading, but it may have come at a high price, with the possibility of the Spaniard sitting out the crucial game against the Mancs.

The gaffer has also brushed off claims that we are over-reliant on the likes of Gerrard and Torres, saying, “We are not too reliant on Torres. People were asking why do you change, why do you rotate? You do it to try to keep the players fresh and clear of injury.

“So now when you have one week, or three or four days in this case, you can use the players.

“But you must be thinking about the next games and three games in six days or six games in 16 days, all of them with very high tempo and demanding a lot physically from the players. We need to think about each game.

“We have also Kuyt, Crouch and Voronin, three strikers who can score goals.”

Keep your fingers crossed that Torres will be present to destroy the Mancs.

2nil and Fernando to get them both! Utd have to come onto us and this will leave room for us in behind. First time in ages I feel really confident, going into A game at old Trafford. The players sound up for it and really believe after the Inter results. We believe! YNWA

    Quotes? Source?

Your article just quotes past interviews! I don’t believe this for one second.
