Fernando Torres is set to miss upto 3 weeks of the season after tearing a hamstring during the 0-0 draw at Villa Park yesterday evening.
“A scan this afternoon has confirmed a hamstring tear in Fernando’s right leg.” read the statement.
“He is expected to be out for between two and three weeks.”
The Spaniard is set to miss the forthcoming battles with United and Marseille, prompting for a hopeful return against Stoke City on the 20th September.
