Torres Focus On League Title

Having helped his side to opening day victory, Fernando Torres has left it very clear to all that the Premier League is the priority of Liverpool this season.

Speaking to Setanta Sports the Spaniard said, “Our focus is on The Premier League and we know how important it is to win The Premier League for the fans. It has been too many years and we are focusing on that. It was important to start with a win after the not so very good game in the Champions League.”

While his partnership with Robbie Keane has yet to flourish, Torres stated that he is in no doubt that Keane’s introduction to the side is for the better of the team. “I always want to play with a good player like Robbie and he is fine for me and the team, which is more important.”

Torres scored 24 Premier League goals last season and with one already under his belt this season, he’ll be looking to emulate or better his goal tally of the 2007/2008 season.
