Torres and Villa on target as Spain beat Sweden

Published by fiz on June 14, 2008

Spain has qualified for the next phase of the tournament when David Villa scored a winner in the dying minutes. Fernando Torres’s opener was canceled out by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It didn’t take long for Fernando Torres to open his Euro 2008 goalscoring account. Torres broke the deadlock on the 14th minute when Silva delivered a beauty of a cross only to find Torres stretching his legs for the ball.

Ibrahimovic leveled the game on the 32nd minute. It was goalless at half time and it looks like the game is going to end in a draw. And on the 92nd minute, Casillas’s long goalkick found David Villa who calmly slotted the ball into the back.
