Swedish youth given trial

14 year old Markus Johansson will be given a chance to impress at Liverpool this August. Scouts found him last summer and have been keeping tabs on him. This season the striker broke into the first team at Hagahojden and already has three goals despite his young years.

“We have kept in touch with their Swedish scout. I will go to Liverpool in August and train with their Academy for a few days,” said Johansson.

“I am already starting to get nervous,” he admitted, but is looking forward to the adventure.

“I got to know about the trial last week. It will be great fun. There are no doubts that it will be the biggest opportunity of my life.”

Time will tell if the Swede can join a quickly improving reserve and youth setup, but Johansson knows what he has going for him. “My biggest asset is my strength and it is my dream to play for Liverpool.”
