Steve Nicol disappointed with Americans
Former Kop legend Stevie Nicol, who spent a total of 14 years with the Reds during the 80’s and 90’s (pictured with the old Division One and FA Cup trophies from our double-winning season of 1985/86), has stated that our proud reputation is taking a hammering and things should have been conducted in a more professional manner by our American owners.
“The one thing about Liverpool was that any business was conducted the way it should be.” said Nicol.
“It was between the parties concerned and not plastered all over newspapers. That’s the biggest disappointment. The club’s reputation is taking a bit of a bashing as far as that’s concerned, which is something that shouldn’t happen.”
“It never happened at the club before and hopefully it will brush over quickly so they can get back to conducting things in a proper manner,” added the Scot.
“Because they have been dropping points, it just helps anybody who wants to have a go at them. Winning tends to solve most things, that’s for sure.”

Look thanks for giving us Stevie Nicol’s view on the situation, I’m sure many of us Reds would of guessed his views but are you really a Red? Liverpool FC didn’t win anything in 1986/87 (2nd in league behind everton, runners up in League Cup, and failed in the 3rd round of the FA Cup due to the Luton debacle), however we won the double in 1985/86. It pays to do your research (true Reds tend to know this info offhand) and to check what you type.
jesus!!
Am I not allowed to make a typo without being lambasted for it?
The photo was taken in ‘86, which made me type 86-87, instead of thinking for a further half-a-second and typing 85-86!
This is koptalk resurrected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
