Liverpool go into tonights match looking to take a comfortable lead to Anfield to resurrect another Champions League surge.

The reds are also waiting on the fitness of skipper Steven Gerrard who may be fit to start for Liverpool tonight after recovering from his thigh strain he picked up in last weeks match with Valerenga. With Gerrard looking likely to be fit it will see the Liverpool captain line-up next to Xabi Alonso in midfield as Javier Mascherano is away at the Olympics.

Robbie Keane is to make his competitive debut lining up front next to strike partner Fernando Torres. Keane is still looking to bag his first goal for the reds. Missing from tonights squad will be defenders, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurellio, Steve Finnan and Phillip Degen.

Belgian champiions Standard Liege will be looking to cause a major shock by beating the Reds tonight.
