Slovak to plug defensive line

Published by Redneck on February 21, 2008

Our weekend clash against improving Middlesbrough could see the return of Martin Skrtel after returning back to full training after a short injury lay-off.

The Slovak has made just four appearances since his switch last month in a deal worth around £6million, and was recently announced as Slovakia’s player of the year for 2007 (video below).

“The treatment has been going well. It has got better and better. The prognosis was that I should be back in up to 10 days and this is the ninth one.” the Slovakian star told SITA.

The return of Skrtel will be welcomed by many after our defensive line has looked quite shaky in recent performances, barring the Inter Milan game of course!
