Skrtel set to miss Valerenga friendly

Martin Skrtel will miss this evening’s trip to Norway as the Reds face Valerenga in our penultimate pre-season friendly of the 2008/09 season.

After picking up a groin strain during our 4-0 hammering of Glasgow Rangers last Saturday, the rock-hard Slovak looks likely to miss next Friday’s friendly against Lazio at Anfield, but according to the Offish website he should make a full recovery in time for the first-leg Champions League qualifier against Belgium’s Standard Liege.
