Sevilla youngster rejects Liverpool switch

17-year-old defender Juan Torres Ruiz has decided against a move to Liverpool in favour of remaining with Sevilla according to Setanta Sports.
The player’s agent, Emilio de la Riva claimed that Ruiz has just signed a new contract till 2012. Riva added that there were several English clubs interested in signing the defender and it’s believed that Liverpool were among the clubs interested.
“The footballer had the possibility to go to England but his number one option has always been Sevilla,” agent Emilio de la Riva revealed.
For his part, Cala added: “It has been a great gift, just a day before the team flew to Russia (to play and win a friendly tournament in Moscow) and I signed the documents after the pre-season camp in Costa Ballena.”
