Riise wants answers
Liverpool defender John Arne Riise is pushing to learn if he has a future at the Merseyside club.
“My agent is set to find out what is happening,” said the Norwegian according to Setanta Sports. These comments come on the back of a goal and an assist for his nation in a 2-2 draw versus Uruguay.
“I have to get things sorted out before pre-season starts. Those who have played internationals are due to meet up on July 7.
“I can’t wait and wait for an answer. I have to get an answer now.”
Riise has been out of favor this season with Brazilian Fabio Aurelio almost assured of a starting spot. Despite only having 12 months left on his current deal, Riise has not been offered a new contract. Sami Hyypia and Peter Crouch, the other Liverpool players with contracts a year from expiration, were both offered extensions during the season, with the Finn signing immediately.
