Riera Set To Finally Sign ?
Liverpool are set to finally set their attentions to Espanyol winger Albert Riera after the failed transfer of Gareth Barry.
Riera has been linked with the reds all summer to fill the current left wing position, with Middlesbrough’s Stuart Downing on Benitez’s radar.
Riera has also made it clear he would jump at a chance to move to Anfield if Liverpool made a substantial offer for him, and that could be imminent as the Barry saga looks set to have come to an end.
Benitez looks like he has finally come to terms with the fact that Barry won’t be joining for Liverpool, for this summer at least, after owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett decided to block any move for the 27 year old England midfielder.
Liverpool scouts watched the Spanish midfielder last season who has improved greatly since his year loan deal at Man City two seasons ago.
