Riera backs Torres for Ballon d´Or

Albert Riera believes Fernando Torres deserves to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.

The Ballon d´Or award also known as the European Footballer of the Year is perhaps the most respected accolade in the world football.

The striker scored an astonishing 33 goals (24 league) for Liverpool in his debut season breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of most league goals (23) scored in the debut season.

“I am doing good things alongside Fernando Torres, who is a partner and a good friend. To me he should win the Ballon d’Or,” he told Setanta Sports.
