Reds crash out of FA Cup (Video)
We have been knocked out of the FA Cup by defensive-minded Barnsley after Tykes captain Brian Howard grabbed a last-minute winner at the kop end with a stunning 20-yard strike to send the Yorkshire outfit into the Quarter-Finals of the unknown.
Dirk Kuyt put us one-up in the first half with a typical Dirk goal, with Steve Foster levelling the scores in the second-half, but it was the heroics of loan-signing Luke Steele who kept out a series of shots to keep Barnsley in with a chance of causing an upset - and my word have they done just that.

I don’t know how I should feel right now..
They didn’t play that bad and created loads of chances, but they didn’t play particularly well either. We should have killed the game earlier when we were leading 1-0. Whatever the manager said at the half time, it failed to motivate the team to play even better. Crouch was having quiet night. Glad that Kuyt grabbed a goal. Don’t think it’s necessary to blame the manager, but his team selection was baffled me. I was very disappointed with the result and hope the manager learned something i.e. be more open-minded and not being so stubborn, more considerate with his team selection, etc. I still believe he’s a good manager and can turn things around. However, if we keep free falling until the end of season, a new manager might bring a fresh approach to the team for the next season. YNWA
I don’t see why he brought off Babel for Kewell. Oh well, we’re now left with only CL.
