Rafa Hoping For Euro Repeat

Published by Redneck on March 31, 2008

Rafa Benitez is hoping he can repeat the feat achieved by his former club Valencia when his Red army come up against the Gooners in the first of our European battles.

“I recall those good results for Valencia, particularly at Highbury, it was a 0-0 draw and I was pleased with that,” recalled Benitez “We had John Carew sent off against Arsenal in that game and we still produced a fine result.”

“We had 10 players for a long time. I would like to see us follow that example, but not having to play with 10 men again! I want Liverpool to repeat Valencia’s result against Arsenal, because we won the second group match 2-0. That would be perfect.”

“Arsenal are still a very good team and will be tough opponents for us in Europe.”
