Preview: Bolton vs Liverpool
Published by F9T on March 2, 2008
Liverpool haven’t won at the Reebok since Rafael Benitez took the helm. Liverpool will be looking to improve upon their recent good form, especially as Rafa says Liverpool need to be in fourth by the time we play Inter again.
Liverpool –
Liverpool have won two, lost one, and drawn 7 of the last 10. Lost three times; only Arsenal have been beaten less frequently (just once). Conceded just 19 goals; only Manchester United and Chelsea have shipped fewer.
Also, allowed the opposition to score first in six games; only Manchester United can better that. Shown 35 cards (all yellow); only Everton have a better disciplinary record with 31 cards (28 yellow, three red).
Registered five goalless draws. Only Portsmouth have also been involved in as many as that. Scored eight times in the last five minutes; only Manchester United exceed that with 10. Picked up three points from the last 12 available away, and not won on the road since a 1-2 victory at Derby on Boxing Day.
Lost only twice away from home this season; only Arsenal have a better record with one defeat, and have also, failed to score in 199 minutes on the road (three hours 19 minutes) since Fernando Torres’ equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on 12 January.
Bolton –
Bolton have only won 5 of their 17 games under Gary Megson, and have not scored in there last 2 home games, their last home goal being in the 1-2 defeat to Blackburn. Bolton are yet to win a game in which they have conceded the opening goal, and thus an added incentive for Liverpool.

Looking forward to this game for a change as Bolton are nothing what they used to be like!
Get Torres up-front Rafa and get another good victory under our belt.
Will be VERY disappointed if he fields a “lesser” team at such a pivotal point in our season.
