Play Me Rafa

Published by fowlergod9 on August 2, 2008

Liverpool’s 20-year-old defensive midfielder Damien Plessis is confident that his abilities will allow him to play in Rafa’s first-team, but is hoping that the gaffer will give him a chance to display his abilities against some of the world’s finest.

The French player signed from Lyon impressed in his first season at Liverpool, notably in his first start against Arsenal, and his form during this pre-season has further raised Plessis stock among Liverpool’s staff.

“This year, I hope I will be given the chance to show myself a bit more,” Plessis told L’Equipe.

“Monsieur Benitez offered me my first Premier League experience last year with the game against Arsenal. I thank him for that.

“I understand he is a good coach who likes tactics. To be honest, I’d like to have more time of play, but you have to deserve it.

“I feel good at Liverpool. The coach is nice, well, I say he is a nice guy because he plays me for the moment (laughs).”
