Pennant to join Fowler at Rovers?

Published by Redneck on August 18, 2008

Blackburn Rovers manager, and former Kop favourite Paul Ince, is understood to be interested in bringing wide-man Jermaine Pennant to Ewood Park, linking him up with another former Kop hero Robbie Fowler who has been offered a 6-month pay-as-you-play deal after rejecting a 1-year contract extension with Cardiff City.

Pennant didn’t feature in the 1-0 win against Sunderland last Saturday evening and manager Rafael Benitez looks set to favour Dirk Kuyt or Yossi Benayoun in the right-wing position, which could spell the end to Pennant’s 2-year Anfield career.

The sooner he goes the better I’ll be happy if we get our money back on him.

Well… Personally I think Pennant is a good winger but not great. I’m really not a Kuyt fan either, no creativty, too slow!!

I agree Wayne, he’s just not LFC quality and Kuyt simply is not a bloody winger - when will Rafa realise this?

Can’t wait for Babel to return, but we seriously need a star winger - like Joe Cole.

Aaron Lennon is our man and will definitely solve this right side lack of pace and quality, he’s really creative and good on the ball with perfect cross and pass the ball well.. I would surely prfer Joe Cole but it can only be a dream for us

Pennant is a good player but he’s not constant from match to match.. However he have done some good work moreover. But Mr Benitez should really play El-Zhar more and use his incredible talent at its best
