Owen on the move?
Published by Zac Lee Rigg on August 17, 2008
Michael Owen has had a pretty disappointing career since leaving Liverpool. After his departure for £8m to Real Madrid prior to the 2004/2005 season, Owen sat the bench frequently, struggled with injury, and watched Rafa Benitez lead Liverpool to an unlikely Champion’s League trophy on a television set.
Squeezed out in Spain, Owen moved to Newcastle after a season where his injury problems have grown worse. Joining a host of attackers who burst onto the scene young, Owen is finding his body deteriorating early.
Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has moved him to a slightly deeper role in order to keep him effective. Lately, Owen has lost his spot in the England international team when once his spot and a start was a given. Emile Heskey of all people has made the latest roster.
The Sunday Express are reporting that Tottenham will bid £12 million for the once-prodigy to replace the departing Dimitar Berbatov. This could be a last chance to revitalize a crumbling career for the player who won the Ballon d’Or in 2001.

How does this have anything to do with Liverpool? He’s an ex-player now.
He’s an ex-Liverpool player. Thus far nearly 3,000 Liverpool fans have read this article, so they must be interested in what happens to Owen.
Dr. Ramesh just got put in his place!
With a headline of “Owen on the move”, most of those 3000 probably thought it had something to do with Liverpool. Sadly, the article is irrelevant and rubbish too. Who would pay £12M for Owen now….?? [Back in your box LMAO]
Discerning readers will see that the headline was “Owen on the move” and not “Owen coming home.” The title was not meant to be misleading in any way, simply to inform those interested about the club some rumors circling one of its legends. I spent many a year seeing Owen carry a poor squad up the table, overshadowing every other player in regards to skill. I assume that many others are still interested in one who was once so dear to us.
In answer to your question, if you had read the article, you would see that Tottenham are allegedly willing to pay 12m for Owen.
this has nothing to do with Liverpool! I thought this article was reveling the return of michael owen to Liverpool but it just tells me he’s crap! He won’t go to spurs end of, we should have signed him instead of keane. This man only had one bad season with the reds and he would have been Cheeper 2 such would have left money for barry!.
