Official: Guthrie a Magpie

As expected, Danny Guthrie has completed his transfer to Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle. The midfielder spent last year at Bolton where he featured regularly, but was not purchased.

Liverpoolfc.tv are now reporting that the Newcastle deal is final. Guthrie moved to find first team football.

He said: “I’m really happy to be joining Newcastle United. I’m ready to get involved straight away and I cannot wait to meet the boys and get started.”

Former Red Kevin Keegan, was pleased with the deal. Having previously complained that no players wanted to move to Newcastle, he’sat least brought one player in.

“He proved himself in the Premier League last season so we know he can play at that level,” said Keegan.

“He’s at the right age and is a good signing for us.” he added.
