Teenage winger, Paul Anderson, who has spent the season on-loan at League One table-toppers Swansea, spoke of his despair after the shock 4-2 defeat at the hands of Havant & Waterlooville in the third-round of the FA Cup, which ultimately meant he had no chance of shining in front of the Kop in a fourth-round clash.

“I’ll hold my hands up and admit it, there were a few tears from me on the bus coming back from Havant & Waterlooville,” admitted Paul.

“I don’t know for certain if I would have been allowed to play.

“There was nothing in my contract which said I couldn’t, but whether Liverpool would have got in touch about a gentlemen’s agreement if we’d got through I’m not sure.

“To be honest I wasn’t focusing on that.

“I was concentrating on getting through the third round and unfortunately I didn’t produce.

“I had a bit of a shocker at Havant and we lost the game.

“But that’s life. It’s in the past now and we have to move on.” he added.
