Midfielder ‘flattered’ by Liverpool link
Real Mallorca midfielder Borja Valero admits that it is flattering to be linked with a move to Liverpool. The 23-year-old midfielder even claims that there is no greater club than Liverpool.
Valero is reportedly the candidate to replace Gareth Barry if Benitez opts for a ‘Plan B’. Borja Valero caught the eye of Liverpool scouts with his commanding performance last season. The 23-year-old player joined RCD Mallorca after being released by Real Madrid.
“There is no greater club than Liverpool,” he stated.
“I will remain at Mallorca until they tell me otherwise. If Liverpool say they want me then I am very flattered by it.
“Mallorca would have preferred to keep the bulk of the players that did so well last season but they are a selling club.
“I always want to win things and progress as a footballer.”
