Mascherano in injury scare

Javier Mascherano suffered a knock in Argentina’s latest World Cup qualifier versus Ecuador and had to be substituted.
The knee injury is not expected to be serious, however, and the midfielder should be fit to start in the mammoth tie versus Brazil coming this Wednesday.
Coach Alfio Basile said: “Mascherano was hit in his knee. It hurts a lot, but according to the doctor is not serious.”
