Martinez questions Anderson’s loyalty
Swansea boss Roberto Martinez is upset that Liverpool’s winger Paul Anderson snubbed Swansea City to join Nottingham Forest. Martinez questioned Anderson’s loyalty and claimed that Anderson owes Swansea big for steering him in the right direction.
Martinez said: “Everyone knows being grateful or loyal in football does not exist anymore.”
“We are proud to be involved in the development of a player that no-one wanted 12 months ago who now has six or seven choices,” he added.
“We are delighted how he adapted as we allowed him to enjoy his football, that’s why he has enjoyed a lot of interest from clubs this summer.”

It’s too bad he didn’t thank Anderson that he helped the club. It was not a one way deal dude!
Of course, his decision might not have been influenced by location or convenience? Nottingham is half way between his home town, Leicester and his home club, Liverpool. A pity Martinez felt the need to make these comments. Anderson seems to have made his decision purely on whats best for his development and no-one can begrudge him that.
Cheeky sod, If it was me I wouldn’t lend him any more players. Plus it’s better for the reds if he gets experience at different clubs.
What loyalty should a player have to a team that only has him on-loan? He should be loyal to Liverpool first and foremost.
Swansea might have done a good job with Anderson, but that is why Liverpool loaned him out to them in the first place…
