Liverpool’s Crisis Worsens
January 22, 2008 · By fiz · Jump to comments
Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have hit a problem in their refinancing plans, according to reports.
It is claimed the American pair are struggling to secure a loan they need to pay back the original loan they used to buy the club last year.
Speculation suggests Hicks and Gillett are running out of time and could be tempted to sell to Dubai Investment Capital.
One report suggests the ‘refinancing deal is on the verge of collapse’ while another claims ’sources in the City believe that the Americans’ regime is crumbling by the day’.
Plans to build a new stadium in Stanley Park were put on hold recently because the project was becoming too expensive.
At the weekend, Hicks insisted he had not received an offer for the club and had no plans to sell.

PLEASE SELL - we need the yanks who don’t care about the club and Parry who could have made the biggest balls up ever (by selling to them)to go now asap. If they don’t, just look at Leeds we could go down that road or just fester in midtable for years to come.
RAFA - play Crouch and put Kuyt in the resevrse to find his touch and how to score, if not let them go and play some young guns from the reservses.
YNWA
so who are we supposed to believe?
The yanks who state that they don’t want to sell and have recieved no contact from DIC, or the UK media who consistantly blow stories out of proportion, exaggerating every word taken from Anfield in the hope they can conjure up some cock n’bull?
I’m as unhappy as anyone with regards to our situation, but the reaction from The Kop against Villa was disappointing to say the least.
Fair enough they tried to secure the services of Klinsmann (why I do not know?) behind Rafa’s back, but according to all the media, there was complete discontent from Rafa with regards to the finances available to him, maybe the Yanks wanted to secure somebody quickly instead of being left in the lurch - I dont know, but does anyone else feel that the reaction from the fans is a little OTT - too much too soon perhaps?
Ask yourself this, how much money was Rafa given to bring in Torres, Benayoun, Babel, Leiva, Itandje and Skrtel?
Any idea how much those few people cost Liverpool Football Club - a fcuking fortune thats how much!
