Liverpool v Newcastle United: Injury Latest

Argentine International Javier Mascherano, will miss tomorrow’s visit of Newcastle United at Anfield after being ruled out by manager Rafa Benitez.
The ‘Chief of Merseyside’ could also be a doubt for the return-leg of our Champions League clash with Serie A giants Inter Milan on the 11th March after struggling to recover from a muscle injury he picked up during our 4-0 trouncing of West Ham United.
“I will need to speak to the doctors before we decide about Inter Milan but he will not be available this weekend against Newcastle,” said manager Rafael Benitez.
Andriy Voronin is also reported to be back in training after a long lay-off but won’t feature tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan has confirmed that Magpie trio Mark Viduka, Emre and Stephen Carr will not be fit in time for the travel southwards to Anfield.
“Emre (calf), Mark Viduka (calf) and Stephen Carr (hamstring) won’t be ready,” declared Keegan “Stephen is still a couple of weeks away while we need to work on a programme to get Mark back to full fitness.”
