Argentine Sebastian Leto faced a major blow in securing his Anfield future over the weekend as it was revealed that his work permit application was rejected.
According to The Mirror, his permit application was rejected last Friday after Italian authorities carried out investigations looking into the validity of a number of citizenship decisions.
Left-midfielder Leto, currently holds an Italian passport, which enables him to ply his trade in the UK, but could soon find himself exiled back to South America if his passport is withdrawn.
So far, he has only featured in a handful of cup games for the Reds, and was recently loaned out to Greek outfit Olympiakos.
