Liverpool linked with Spanish startlet
Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton plus a host of Spanish clubs are being linked with young Real Valladolid keeper Sergio Asenjo.
The 18-year-old’s performances have been catching the eye of a number of scouts representing the Premier League clubs, while interest from rival La Liga outfits has also been confirmed by Asenjo’s agent.
A deal could be done for as little as £3.3m given the youngster’s buy-out clause, but that fee is seen to be prohibitive for interested Spanish sides.
However, cash would not be a problem for United, Liverpool or Everton as they seek to add competition to their ranks.
Asenjo’s agent Fernando Redondo told AS: “More than one Spanish team is very interested in his future with a view to next season.
