Lindfield loan cut short
Published by fiz on December 6, 2007
On-loan Liverpool striker Craig Lindfield has returned to Anfield following the end of his month-long loan spell at Notts County.
Jason Lee’s return to fitness has bolstered Ian McParland’s attacking options and the Magpies manager feels the funds to prolong Linfield’s stay at Meadow Lane would be better spent in the January transfer window.
“Craig has gone back. Had we been a striker down I think we would have looked to keep him for another month,” McParland told the club’s official website. “But we are trying to look after the budget carefully and we feel it might be best to save funds for January.
“Craig has been terrific for us and he has been a real credit. We wish him all the very best and I thank him for his efforts whilst with us.”
Lindfield made four appearances for County. The 19-year-old scored his only goal for the club on his debut in a 2-0 win at Accrington.
