Kuyt in swap deal for Hammers star?

Under-pressure Rafa Benitez is reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of goals from £10million Dutch (miss)hit-man, Dirk Kuyt, and is lining-up a swap-deal involving West Ham United striker Dean Ashton (pictured).
A potential stumbling block for a deal to go ahead is the Hammers’ valuation of Ashton, thought to be in the region of £17million, but Rafa has several players at his disposal that he is willing to off-load in a multiple swap-deal.
Norwegian John Arne Riise, who has struggled for form this season, is also a target for Newcastle’s Kevin Keegan, but more importantly, Hammers boss, Alan Curbishley is understood to be a keen admirer of the ginger-winger and could pave the way to broker a deal during the January transfer-window.
Momo Sissoko is also waiting in the Anfield departure lounge but the Mali International wants to ply his trade (which is apparently playing football) in Italy.

Are you kidding? Why would you think for 1 minute that we would want Kuyt? Is it April Fools’s Day already? Kuyt must be one of the worst of many bad signings by Benitez and one of the reasons why Benitez has proved that after 3? years he still knows nothing about the Premier League. On the other hand we do have a spare corner flag that we could swap for him. I think they have about the same mobility.

we won’t be selling any of our first team players this january. the well-pulicised injuries at west hame mean that we have to stick with those first team players that have actually slightly gelled in our injury-forced chop-and-change team this season.

There’s a very realistic chance of West Ham doubling Liverpool this season. If that happens, Hammers will be pretty much level on points. So in April there could very easily be four or five sides challenging for 4th, 5th and 6th spot. I think any salient Liverpool fan must be a little nervous of the likes of Everton and Aston Villa pinching 4th place. As for West Ham, the best for us this season is 7th - 9th. Finishing above Spurds would be quite an achievement. Liverpool will struggle now, and finish 5th.

It’s funny watching people have a go at kuyt. I admit that he’s had some trouble with his form this season, he’s been unlucky. But I believe he was our best player last season, he’s a real good player. And I guess he can score goals, just look at his goal record from the Eredivise.

I think Kuyt is actually half decent, just not a finisher. I actually can’t see anyone buying Deano at the moment as he is yet to prove his fitness after being out for well over a year.

Good question.
How good is he? He is two footed and I mean genuinely two footed. His vision is excellent as is his first touch. He’s able to create chances out of nothing and shields the ball well. The only downside to hi game at the moment is he’s not all that quick, but I guess that will come with fitness. Being out for over a year and then again for six months means that we’ve by no means seen the best of him. Afterall, he’s still only 24.
