Kop Reserve to Make Toon Switch?
Published by Redneck on June 17, 2008
Newcastle United have slapped a £9million price-tag on James Milner’s forehead in an attempt to start a bidding war between interested clubs, Liverpool reportedly being one of them according to The Daily Mirror.
A multi-player plus cash swap deal has already been rejected by the Toon Army and Benitez is likely to return with an improved offer which could see Kop reserve Danny Guthrie making a move up North in a part-exchange deal.
Guthrie made 28 first-team appearances for Bolton Wanderers last season whilst on loan and could see a move to United as the ideal opportunity to spring-board his professional career after failing to nail down a regular starting-role under Benitez.
