Kewell hopes Riise as Summer approaches

Reports in Australia are claiming Liverpool are to sign Gareth Barry and allow both Jon Arne Riise and Harry Kewell leave. Kewell has not featured much this season for the first team and he is believed to want to sit out his contract and not risk getting injured and scuppering a move from Anfield.

Riise is a player who the reds may cash in on with interest being shown from Celtic,Newcastle and a couple of Italian clubs. Kevin Keegan is likely to be handed a massive transfer kitty and may see both Riise and kewell as players he would like. Newcastle are also linked with lofty striker Peter Crouch who reds fans dont want to see leave.

Andrei Voronin has struggled at Anfield. The striker is unrated by many of the Liverpool faithful and it seems likely he could return to Germany or even head home to Ukraine. But Liverpool have not signed any players for major money yet and Rafael Benitez will certainly be optimistic about his chances of getting players.
