Keane dropped by Tottenham

Published by Zac Lee Rigg on July 25, 2008

In a pre-season friendly versus Hercules, Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos dropped captain Robbie Keane from both the starting lineup and the substitutes bench.

Pundits have latched onto the decision as a signal that the Republic of Ireland international will be joining Liverpool in the coming hours. It is thought that he is fit and that injury plays no part in the decision.

Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent started the game up front, despite both looking for moves away as well. That would indicate that Keane’s move is imminent, or at least much more than the respective moves of Berbatov and Bent.

A fee of £20m is expected, but negotiations are still on-going despite Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reporting Liverpool to the Premier League for tapping-up.

Take the c*** and stick him up your arse - he’s dead to me now.

I think he’ll tear it up with Torres for the record.
