Keane and Torres Can Be Europe’s Best

Rafael Benitez has told Liverpool’s Offish site that he believes new Liverpool number 7 and Fernando Torres can be one of Europes most lethal strike partnerships.

Although Robbie Keane is yet to open his goal scoring account for the reds the Spanish boss is happy with what he has seen in pre-season.

Benitez said, ”I Think the two strikers are top class and on the same level as anyone. If they play together a lot I think they can go on and get better and better.”

“If you ask me, I would prefer them to have played together more in pre-season, but Torres came back late and we only signed Keane recently so it wasn’t ideal.”

“Both players are clever and it is clear that if they play together for a long time, it will be easier for them to develop an understanding. I think they will be okay and can show their quality”.

Benitez will be hoping that they can show quality in tomorrow’s Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege.
