Fellow Australian Zeljko Kalac wants the forever injured Liverpool midfielder leave England and to join him in Italy.

Kalac believes Kewell would fit in perfectly in Italy and it’d for the good of his career. Juventus and Valencia are rumoured to be interested in the out-of-favour midfielder.

Kalac said: “It might be time for Harry to get away from England. He’s been there a long time (13 years) and it can wear you down.”

“Harry’s game is suited to the Continent, you get the chance to express yourself and technically it would be great for him. I’d personally welcome him with open arms at Milan.”

“I think he’d do a great job for us. He’s still only 29 and has three of four really goody years left at the very top level.”

“In England they tend to rush players too fast back from injury and the way they train is tough on the body,” Kalac added. “It’s all about patching players up and sending them out and that can take its toll.”

“Harry’s been unlucky with injuries but it looks like he’s over that now. And Italy or Spain would suit him down to the ground.”

“The hands-on treatment is better here and the bottom line is you get more time to recover when you are hurt.”

“Maybe Harry needs a new environment and a new lifestyle.”

“It’s different in Italy where the game is so much more technical and you get fewer injuries in the first place. Careers seem to last a lot longer here.”

“Look at Paolo Maldini at my club Milan. He’s still going at 40 and has just signed a new contract for us.”

“There’s been plenty of talk in the papers here and why not. People know Harry is still a great player. Things might not have worked out at him at Liverpool with all the injuries,” Kalac said.

“But they realise he has ability and you don’t lose that overnight. At Milan there’s been a lot of talk about signing Ronaldinho from Barcelona and we also need a striker like Didier Drogba.”

“But I think Harry wouldn’t be out of place either. He could fit in like a glove to our system and I’d love to see him here.”
