Juventus pull out of Alonso deal

Juventus have ended talks with Liverpool over the transfer of Xabi Alonso. Claudio Ranieri confirms that Juventus will only need another goalkeeper for the new season. Juventus have opted to sign Christian Poulsen instead of the Spaniard.

“We’re 99% complete, at least in terms of people coming in,” Ranieri told Juventus’ official website.

“We only need another keeper and then we’ll be all set, ready to face the new season.

“I’m really pleased with how the club operated and for this I thank them. I’m convinced I have a good team at my disposal; we’ll be able to compete with everybody.”

It appears that Juventus are not willing to pay £16 million for the Spaniard.
