Johnson set for Reds summer move

Published by Redneck on February 5, 2008

Manchester City’s Michael Johnson looks Anfield-bound after reports linking the incredible youngster, who turns 20 in a fortnight, in a sensational swap-deal with striker Peter Crouch (pictured in-flight).

£12million-rated Johnson, who was apparently close to sealing a deal with the Reds during the January transfer window, but an ill-timed injury to Johnson saw the deal flutter away into the wilderness, but Benitez is reported to be very keen on Johnson still.

Crouch, who has surprisingly played a bit-part role under Rafa this season despite an impressive goal-return, is reportedly happy to stay at Anfield, but if City can pinch the all-important fourth-place from beneath our noses (God forbid!), the attraction of playing in the UEFA Champions League could be too tempting for the former Southampton hitman.
