Jermaine Pennant Fighting for His Future
April 22, 2008 · By fowlergod9 · Jump to comments
The Liverpool winger is fighting for his future as Rafael Benitez does not seem eager to include him in his plans for next year. However, Pennant has done himself no harm with his man of the match performance against Fulham on Saturday.
Pennant probably played his best game against Fulham this weekend since his performance against AC Milan in last years Champions League Final. He scored one goal and set up another. His goal against Fulham was a striker’s finish by beating two defenders and smashing the ball at the near post.
Despite the recent boardroom unrest, Liverpool will once again be investing heavily in the transfer market, and a goal-scoring right winger and a decent left back are the main targets.
With Liverpool recently interested in Blackburn’s David Bentley or Porto’s Ricardo Quaresma, Pennant’s Liverpool career may be coming to a slow end.
