Wes Brown was the unlikely scorer of the only goal of the first 45 minutes at Castle Greyskull to make the scoreline 1-0 as we go down the tunnel.

Wayne Rooney came close within 6 minutes, followed by Ronaldo’s effort which glanced the outside of Reina’s right-post.

However the main talking point of the first-half was the sending-off of Javier Mascherano for dissent after picking up an initial yellow card earlier on. The referee had just given Torres a yellow for talking back at the ref so why on earth Javier felt the need to go and give him some S**t remains a mystery.
