Goalkeeper Ready To Look Elsewhere
Scott Carson, pictured whilst on international duty with England and currently out on-loan at Aston Villa, has publicly stated that he will be looking elsewhere during the summer months as he has no intention of playing second fiddle to Pepe Reina.
“Will I be at Villa next season?,” Carson asked himself. “I can’t say yes or no. I don’t know what Martin O’Neill’s plans are here. I have some important decisions to make in the summer.
“But I do not want to go out on loan again. I would like to get settled and find a home for the next five or six years.
“I want to be No.1 at a club whether it be Liverpool, Aston Villa or somewhere else. I have big decisions to make at the end of the season.
“It is doubtful whether Liverpool will say I am their No.1 because Pepe Reina has been outstanding for the last two or three seasons.
“I wouldn’t want to go back to being a No.2, even at a club like Liverpool. I would prefer to be playing in the Championship rather than being No.2 in the Champions League.
“I have been a No.1 for the past two years and I couldn’t not play football on a Saturday. I need to be involved.” he added.
