Defoe wants Crouch at Portsmouth
Jermain Defoe would like fellow England teammate Peter Crouch to join him at Fratton Park. Defoe is keen to see Crouch playing for Portsmouth next season and has urged Harry Redknapp to sign the lanky striker.
“It would be great if Crouchie came,” said Defoe.
“He is still under contract at Liverpool but we will see. I think we can go far next season but we do need a bigger squad,” he added.
Crouch has found himself warming the bench on many occasions as the gaffer has gone for the partnership of Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt. It is still unclear whether he will stay or move to a club where he’ll be given regular football.
