Cisse to Sunderland?

Published by Zac Lee Rigg on August 20, 2008

Djibril Cisse may not have had the best of times at Liverpool, but picked up a Champion’s League winners medal before he left.

He spent last season in Marseille where he scored 16 league goals to lead a potent attack. However, the French striker owns property in England and was keen to try his hand at the Premier League once more.

“An agreement in principle has been reached between OM and Sunderland for the loan of Djibril Cisse to the English club until the end of the season,” Marseille president Pape Diouf told the club’s official website.

“Some details still need to be sorted out ahead of the confirmation of the loan.”
